v2 Respect for the trees lost

'Rescue Logs' was created by Julie Hall and friends with a mission 'to rescue as many logs as possible from being chipped and chopped up for firewood through resource allocation and education, with projects support healing and resilience-building in the hills.'

Treasuring our Trees

The storms of June 2021 were a traumatic period for Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges residents, with approximately 25,000 trees falling. Amazingly a vision was created to turn this sadness into a positive and an inspiring volunteer-led community project was born, using many of the fallen log woods to create;

Sustainable garden projects • Indoor furniture for schools • Sports equipment • Imaginative play spaces • Adventure trails • Bush cubby houses • Outdoor yarning/teaching circles • Veggie gardens • Erosion control • Bush tucker gardens • Fairy houses

…and much more.
